Preprimary (Toddler) Program

 Overview
 Curriculum

This program is available for children ages eighteen months through thirty-six months. There is one class from 8:45 am to 11:45 am or 8:45 to 3 pm either two, three or five days a week.

The preprimary program not only enhances children's knowledge, independence, and trust in their abilities, but also establishes the foundation for the rest of their lives. The environment is designed to appeal to the child's natural curiosity and to meet the diverse and special developmental needs of this age. It is a peaceful, special space where toddlers play a meaningful role in their own care and the care of their environment.

Maria Montessori believed that a child's normal development is a series of small triumphs in independence. The classroom is prepared in such a way as to support these small steps while still allowing the child to focus on the ultimate goal of self-construction. The prepared environment offers a complete range of activities from movement and larger motor activities to manipulative, language and more concentration work.
